PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Welcome to the Queen’s Preparatory School!

On January 06, 2018, we celebrated 64 years of sustained academic excellence. I am indeed blessed and privileged to head our team of diligent and courageous administrators and educators at this pivotal time in our history. This is an exciting and important time of ongoing progress. Reflection on and inspiration drawn from past successes is an integral part of growth but we must continue to strive to embrace the new challenges and opportunities.

Our continued success is dependent on our strict belief in and application of our stated vision and mission.

Vision Statement
The Queen’s Preparatory School envisions a school community in which all stakeholders work together in a healthy environment to achieve the maximum potential of each individual – spiritually, emotionally, physically, culturally, intellectually and socially.

In 2020, Queen’s Preparatory School will be well known for its strong school spirit, stimulating and enjoyable learning environment, financially viability and robust stakeholder involvement. She will also have near-capacity enrollment and every graduate averaging over 90% in PEP.

Mission Statement
The holistic development of our students in an environment conducive to learning and discovery; underpinned by Anglican spirituality.

We are committed to creating a dynamic, flexible and positive learning environment which provides consistent quality education through Christian principles that will motivate and inspire each individual to achieve his/her full potential. The school community should work amicably together to ensure in-depth holistic development.

NATIONAL STANDARDS CURRICULUM
The old is out and new is here!!
There was a full roll out of the National Standards Curriculum (NSC) at QPS since September 2017.
The Curriculum is applicable to Grades 1-6.

The most publicised part of the assessment programme for the NSC is the PRIMARY EXIT PROFILE (PEP) – with components at Grades 4, 5 and 6. The Aim is to unearth the innovators and lifelong learners in our children and to equip our children to become a part of the workforce for yet unnamed jobs of the future.

Additional resources will be necessary to facilitate the successful implementation of the curriculum which includes increased access to Information and Communication Technologies and space to EXLORE, DISCOVER and CREATE.

New beginnings always bring with it some level of trepidation and that is normal. The QPS family chooses to remember the admonition of the Scriptures which says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but by prayer and petition, let your requests be known to God then the peace of God which transcends understanding will guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”

The QPS Teaching staff is determined to be the best facilitators of this new process.
